FC Calne U12A 3
Thomas Johnston (2)
Ashley Phillips (1)
Cirencester Town 1

A good start to the season saw Calne win 3-1, although the scoreline could have been better if it wasn't for a combination of bad luck, great goal keeping and some rushed finishing. Tom Johnston started the scoring with an early goal, but despite hitting the woodwork on numerous occasions Calne couldn't add a second goal before the break.Half Time 1-0. The first part of the second half continued as the first finished with Calne creating chances, only for the Cirencester keeper to pull of a number of great saves. Cirencester never gave in and totally against the run of play scored an equaliser with a long distance effort. To their great credit the Calne heads didn't drop and despite a number of further missed chances Ashley Daniels scored the second to regain the lead with a neat finish 8 mins from time. Tom Johnston added his second and Calnes third following up a good save from the Cirencester keeper in the final minutes. Final score 3-1.
